I have played and coached at a variety of different levels when it comes to basketball. I played one year at DePauw University which is a small D3 school in Indiana. After my year of playing I decided to get into coaching for the final 3 years of my time at DePauw as a student assistant at DePauw.
Upon graduation it was Coach Fenlon’s connections that landed me a GA spot at Indiana State. My time here allowed me to see the in’s and out’s of the Division 1 level and what it takes to play at the D1 level and beyond. Following time at Indiana State I went on to coach at Lamar Community College and then South Plains College.
During my time coaching I recruited and coached over 50 players from all over the world including, Australia, Africa, Canada, France, Italy, UK, and US just to name a few. During my time coaching we reached 3 straight NJCAA tournament berths, 1 Elite Eight, and one Final Four. I have learned what it takes to compete at every level. I also understand the recruiting landscape and what college coaches at every level are looking for.
I hope this website will be a great resource for both prospective student athletes and coaches. I am really excited about Player Coach Connection and being able to help athletes and coaches from all over the world!

As a former college athlete and college coach I understand what information is needed for everyone involved in the college recruitment process. I played two years of Junior College Basketball and then realized I wanted to become a College Basketball Coach. So I began chasing my dream. Over the next nine years, I had the privilege to work at some of the most prestigious Junior Colleges in America.
While working at Georgia Highlands, South Plains, and Indian Hills, I helped reach 8 straight NJCAA National Tournaments, including two Sweet 16’s, 1 Elite 8, 4 Final 4’s, and a 2018 National Title. During my time as an assistant coach I have recruited and coached over 50 players who moved on to Division 1 schools and some of whom are now playing professionally.
I have recruited and coached players from all over the world including the US, Canada, Europe, South America, Africa, and Australia. I have gained a strong understanding of the recruiting landscape in college athletics. I hope this website can help connect prospective student athletes from all over the world with college coaches at every level.
Demetrius Colson

Demetrius Colson native of Donalsonville, GA. 1999 Graduate of Seminole Co. High School. Colson played collegiate basketball at South GA Tech from 2001 - 2003. Colson graduated from SGTC with an Associate Degree in Computer Information System, after graduating from SGTC he went on to play and continue his education at Georgia Southwestern University.
Colson has coached college basketball for both men's and women's. Colson has 12 years in the women's side and one on thr men. Colson brings a lot to the team by knowing the juco colleges. He has won six conference championships combine at both South GA. Tech (MBB and WBB) and Georgia Highlands College.
Demetrius has one daughter Danielle Colson, who is five years old that reside in Atlanta, GA.
